Autistic Boy Gets Hate Letter, Television Stars Step In To Rally Community

After an autistic boy received a hate letter telling his parents to do the right thing and “euthanize him,” a pair of television stars stepped in to rally his Ontario community behind the family.
Maxwell Begley is a 13-year-old boy from Ontario who suffers from autism, and this week his family received a hate-filled letter from a “pissed off mother” trying to force them out of the neighborhood.
Max’s family said he’s a normal kid who loves the movie Grease, playing on go-karts, and jumping on his trampoline. But the letter called the family selfish for allowing the boy to play outside and be “nothing but a nuisance.”
The hate letter sent to the autistic boy reads:
“He is a hindrance to everyone and will always be that way…. No employer will hire him, no normal girl is going to marry/love him.” “
Personally, they should take whatever non retarded body parts he possesses and donate it to science. What the hell else good is he to anyone!!!”
Max’s mother, Karla Begley, said the words made her sick to her stomach. Karla said she couldn’t fathom how someone could have so much hatred just because the boy is different.
“If they don’t like different people, they should move away and be a hermit, because life is full of unexpected stuff, and that’s what makes it interesting,” she said.
She made sure to keep the letter from Max, but he does know about the support his neighborhood had for him.
After hearing about the boy’s story, two Canadian sisters who sing on ABC’s show Nashville decided to do something about it. Lennon and Maisy Stella tweeted about the boy’s story and later included a photo of the letter. It’s been shared close to 6,000 times.
The community’s reaction to the hate letter has been to rally around the autistic boy. When he left his home on Sunday, more than 120 people were there to cheer him on.

The story of the autistic boy and the hate letter doesn’t end there. Police in the boy’s town say they are looking closely into the case to see if there can be any criminal charges as a result of the letter.

  1. I didn’t comment on this one at first because I wasn’t sure I could do so without inappropriate language. This is nothing but Nazism. If they are of no use to us, kill them. Sad to think that there are still people who believe this.

I pray that the letter-writer is identified and charged, and I pray that this boy lives a rich, fulfilling life that completely defies the prophecies of the letter.

  2. People will abort a child if they find there’s some sort of challenge the birth of that child might present. The venom that drips from that letter is a written record of what many people believe but won’t verbalize.

Hitler simply did away with the ‘defectives’ in trying to create the master race. It’s a scary and slippery slope when there’s a litmus test on who should live and who should die. Untold millions have been sacrificed at the altar of choice and if some get their way others may be in danger of being defined as not worthy.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing CK. God bless you.
