This has been a very difficult thing for me to do lately, just leave it with Him……I’ve found very often that I don’t like His timetable or His method – in fact, I had a bit of a meltdown today on that subject. I’ve been praying for several days for something specific, but it hasn’t come…..and because it has not come, it has caused tension and strife in our family.

I find sometimes I just don’t like the idea that He knows best……

Ever see the movie “Bruce Almighty”? I feel sometimes like I can do better than how God is doing it…….

How to just rest…….

Owen, There is a lot of discussion out there about this topic. The fact of the matter is many can be helped dramatically by these drugs. At the same time there are abuses out there. Those abuses should never be seen as a reason to demonize something that can literally be a gift from God for so many who are struggling. Thanks for your comments.

Allan, this is a great article. This guy makes so much sense!

And I love how he puts this……

“I sometimes explain to patients that medications can serve the same purpose as a cast on a broken leg. the cast allows healing so that gradually more weight can be placed on the broken leg until it is strong enough for the cast to be removed.”

–this was exactly the case with my wife. I myself had qualms about her being on medication for depression/anxiety. I had no idea at the time that it was actually a medical diagnosis.
What we found was quite like what the writer above described……my wife was able to function much more “normally”, and therefore, over time, work through a lot of things.

I just don’t understand why it’s still so hard for some people to make the connection that medication can help with mental illnesses just like any other illness. It’s like they refuse to believe that God could have possibly given us the ability to use drugs to help heal the brain, just like any other body part.

Hey Allan so good to see you the other night, and great to see you reaching out to others through this blog. If more of us in the body of Christ would be about loving instead of judging I believe we would see an amazing amount of healing take place. It cannot be overestimated, the potential for reaching those who are hurting and do not have anyone to relate to them and show loving care, that a ministry like this can reach. Our nephew’s wife has an aggressive form of MS. There is a remarkable procedure that has been going on in Italy that is virtually healing those with MS. The family has submitted Tiffany’s name to be one of those selected for the procedure. Please pray that could happen as she has been through much as described below by our nephew’s mother. Allan

Tiff has had virtually no relief for the past 2 1/2 years and is not doing well. Her MS is progressing rapidly. She was recently started on a new treatment plan, IV Immunoglobulin therapy and Avonex injections every 10 days. She has failed all other treatments. She started out on the Avonex initially, but it didn’t do much for her. They are hoping the combination of that and the immunoglobulin will help.

I want to give you my sincere thanks for all of your prayers for them. You will never know how much it means to me.
